Hackamores are a particular type of bit. This type of bit does not go in the mouth but is placed above the horse's nose. They are made up of two beds that extend and are connected to the reins and act as a lever.
For more or less hardness depends on the length of the beds. The muserola-likestraps of the Hackamores are usually lined with nylon or sheepskin. The Hackamore makes pressure on the nose and other points of the horse's face, which makes that when the rider acts with the reins that force is distributed in the different points of the horse's head being able to handle the horse.
In the "Hackamore" section of our online equestrian store Tuxe Life you will find different models available. The severity of each Hackamore will depend on the rider's riding style, the materials it is made of and the length of the levers.
If you have any doubts about Hackamores, the Tuxe Life team will advise you in the best possible way!
